Microsoft revokes Passport service | The Register

The Register reports: "Microsoft has given up on trying to hawk its controversial Passport sign-on service to other companies, according to a report in the LA Times"

This is great news for the Liberty Alliance, maybe now we can have a single universal federated network identification standard. Personal, I am tired of remember, and changing all my account user names and passwords.

I am not sad to hear that Microsoft is going to stop pushing its Passport technology. It was a good idea, but was never universally excepted or trusted by the Internet community.
